Fortune Metals is an associate of Lucky Group; a family-owned recycling enterprise that started its recycling operations in 1973. It was established in Canada in 1999 as a first step towards Lucky Group’s global expansion strategy in the North American region.

With the dedicated support of our customers, suppliers and team members Fortune Metals has continued to grow ever since, surpassing by far regional industry growth rates.

Fortune Metals initiated extensive enhancements in 2011, with strategic advancements in management leadership and operational structures. As a team, we have worked on implementing strategic restructuring exercises, improvements in quality and supplier development. All this has been possible through a series of successful interactive sessions with our valued stakeholders.

In addition to our strict adherence to operating standards, Fortune Metals was successfully recertified by AQSIQ to further solidify our target for world class excellence.

On a global level, we take pride in our memberships with well-established industrial organizations, including BIR, ISRI, CMRA and CARI. We were also invited to an industry-specific conference hosted by SEAISI, where we reached out to ASEAN-based steel mills, tapped into developing trends in the industry and reconnected with our clients from around the world.

On behalf of Fortune Metals, I was also invited to a Panel Discussion “Selling metal scrap to the Asian markets” at the World Scrap Congress 2011, Shanghai, China, where we gladly shared our knowledge and experience with the our peers in the industry. It also gave us an opportunity to review the leading developments taking shape in our industry.

We will continue to support the industry by way of the 2012 ISRI Convention & Exposition, being hosted in Las Vegas, USA. The associate group, Lucky Group Dubai, will be a key sponsor of the event. Fortune Metals Inc team of experienced traders will be on site at ISRI to assist accredited recycling suppliers looking for newer markets.
